Avocado, date and almond juice with spirulina
Ingredients
- 2 very ripe avocados (≈ 300 g flesh)
- 6 to 8 pitted dates, Mejhoul or Boufeggous (100 g)
- 1 small handful of blanched almonds, soaked for 2 h if possible (40 g)
- 800 ml very cold milk (≈ 825 g)
- 1 tbsp orange blossom water, optional (15 g)
- 4 to 6 ice cubes, optional (≈ 100 g)
The green juice of the ftour table, made at home: velvety, very cold, scented with orange blossom.
Method
- Crush the 8 spirulina tablets (2 per adult glass) into a fine powder with no grains: in a mortar (mehraz), between two tablespoons, or in a freezer bag with a rolling pin. Set aside in a small cup.
- Blend the almonds with 200 ml of the milk until very smooth.
- Add the avocado flesh, the dates, the rest of the milk (600 ml), the orange blossom water and the ice. Blend for 1 minute.
- Pour the children's glasses first, without spirulina.
- For each adult glass: stir 2 crushed tablets into 1 tablespoon of the juice, pour it into the glass and mix well. The juice is cold: the spirulina is never heated.
- Serve straight away, very cold: avocado turns brown if it waits.
Kids' version
The same juice, without spirulina, poured at step 4. The almonds are blended, so there are no pieces. For each child's glass, crush 2 fewer tablets at step 1 (for example, 6 tablets for 3 adult glasses).
